Waterford City Community Forum
The Waterford City Community Forum was established in March 2000 and currently has over 260 members from a diverse range of interests that include resident associations, sport, health, social inclusion, environment, culture. From within this structure an Executive is nominated whose role is to represent the interests of the wider Forum. The development of a local Forum offers a means of consultation and communication between the state sector and the community sector, which will result in local strategies that are responsive to the needs of the community and voluntary sector. Agencies throughout the city are encouraged to consult with the Community Forum when seeking input in relation to policies and initiatives.
The overall objective of the Community Forum is to provide a forum whereby community and voluntary groups have the opportunity to network, build linkages, consult and be consulted on a wide variety of topics relating to the future development of Waterford City. It also acts as a Forum for the sharing of common issues, ideas and interests.
