Web Accessibility
Waterford City Development Board are committed to providing information and services that are fully accessible to all patrons, regardless of abilty.
This website is designed in accordance with the W3C accessibility double AA standards (priority 1 and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
We endeavour to ensure the site remains W3C compliant, but there may be instances where pages are not fully W3C Level 2 compliant. In such instances clicking on the 'Text Version' link will take the user to a version of the page that is accessible to screen readers and magnifiers.
Stylesheets are in use to control layout and presentation. The text on the site (excluding the navigation elements) is equivalent to 12px for the majority of end users, but is dependant on the end user’s personal settings. The end user can increase and decrease the font size or override it completely.
Pages and images are optimised to ensure fast downloading.
To further facilitate access to the resources available on this site, alternative means of accessing information have been provided, such as a site map and an A-Z Guide.
Links that open in a new browser window, while kept to a minimum, use the title tag to forewarn the user that a new window is about to open.
All images use an alt tag describing the content or nature of the image.
This site is continually monitored to ensure its adherence to this Accessibilty Statement.
